Jeon Family, the ghost

MISS MINXI POV

"I'm not lying," she said, her voice trembling as she clenched her fist in front of her mouth. I could sense the unease in her demeanour, but I didn't want to confront her about it. Instead, I put on a fake smile and replied, "That's great." However, deep down, I knew that she wasn't telling the truth.

"But you seem to be eager to be in a relationship," I remarked with a chuckle. She looked away, trying to avoid eye contact, and I could tell that my comment had hit a nerve.

"By the way, do you remember my best friend?" she suddenly exclaimed, as if trying to steer the conversation away from her love life. "Who is your friend? The one who sits next to you with glasses?" I asked, struggling to recall the person she was referring to.

"Yes, Kneyl!" she exclaimed excitedly. "The girl who saved you from those street dogs when you were 19 and she was only 11," she teased me, trying to lighten the mood.

"You brat! I'm older than you, show some respect!" I exclaimed, feeling a mix of embarrassment and annoyance at the memory. It was true that Kneyl had saved me from a pack of dogs when I was younger, but I didn't appreciate being reminded of it.

"I WISH I COULD, BUT I CAN'T," she suddenly shouted as she ran inside, leaving me standing there alone. Letting out a deep sigh, I stared up at the sky, wondering what would become of her. She was always so delusional about her life, and I couldn't help but worry about her well-being.

TIME SKIP | JENA POV

I tip-toed into the kitchen and saw a woman standing by the counter, painstakingly cutting vegetables with a sharp knife. She seemed to be lost in her work, so I decided to hide behind the wall to avoid startling her. I knew that my sudden appearance might cause her harm, so I wanted to be cautious.

As I peered at the woman, I noticed that she had a serene expression on her face, as if she was enjoying the process of cooking. Suddenly, she grabbed a bowl and started mixing eggs with a fork. I couldn't contain my excitement and pounced on her, screaming "MUMMY!"

To my delight, she turned around and smiled at me. She patted my head gently, reassuring me that she wasn't scared. I asked her what she was making for dinner and she replied, "Tteokbokki and kimchi fried rice." My heart skipped a beat at the mention of my favourite dishes, and I started to dance with joy.

Just as we were about to start cooking, the doorbell rang, interrupting us. I opened the door and saw my sister, who had come to visit me unexpectedly. She hugged me tightly and said, "Ayoo sissy come, I miss you so much."

I whispered to her, "I love a guy." She looked at me with concern and asked, "What's going on?" I could hear the worry in her voice. With a smirk, she said, "I knew something was up because of the change in your behaviour."

As she spoke, her hand gently squeezed my shoulder, and her words lingered in the air, giving me a sense of comfort and reassurance. I felt empowered, knowing that I had the support of my older sister, but also the freedom to choose my path. Our conversation was interrupted by our mother's announcement, and we made our way to the dining room.

As we sat down, my sister brought up the topic of Madam Gu Yan, but I could tell that her frustration was mounting as I explained how our younger sister wasn't interested in following her advice. Despite her complaints, I tried to focus on our mother and the upcoming meal. However, the conversation shifted to music, and I couldn't help but feel disinterested. My mother suggested that I sit beside my younger sister and watch her learn, but I couldn't shake the feeling of stress that had been building up from my schoolwork.

TIME SKIP-

On a chilly and windy afternoon, two sisters strolled down the bustling street of Hongdae. One of them had a black bag strapped on her back, which looked like a guitar bag.

As they walked, the younger sister broke the silence and wished the older one good luck. She hoped that Mr Jeon would fall for her older sister's charm.

The older sister couldn't help but blush at the compliment. Her younger sister teased her, saying that she couldn't wait to see her in a beautiful white wedding dress as their father walked her down the aisle to her handsome groom.

As they approached their destination, they were taken aback by the sight of a grand mansion that belonged to Mr Jeon. They had expected it to be an old, abandoned building, but it was well-maintained and enormous. They couldn't help but wonder who lived in such a massive mansion. Was their sister going to marry someone who loved ghosting in this big house? The thought made them both feel uneasy.

As she made her way to the door, the younger sister couldn't help but feel a sense of apprehension. She was expecting Madam Gu Yan, the godmother of Jeon, and his abandoned stepsister, Jeon Minya. Upon arriving, they took off their shoes and entered the house. The younger sister pressed the calling bell, and the door was opened by an elderly woman who appeared to be in her seventies.

"Welcome home, soon-to-be Mrs Jeon," the woman chuckled.

The younger sister let out a sigh. "Oh, I'm not Minxi. I'm Yoon Jena, the younger sister of Minxi," she corrected her.

The woman's expression changed to one of surprise. "Oh, my goodness, my apologies. But you are quite pretty, my dear."  I couldn't help but think that she might catch the young master's attention.  "I heard you don't enjoy learning music. Well, I can certainly relate to that. After all, I too disliked studying after I had gone through all the academic pressures." She laughed heartily, trying to make the younger sister feel at ease.

After entering the house, the woman led them to a room filled with various musical instruments and three chairs. They sat down as the woman closed the door behind them. Soon, a young girl of the same age as the younger sister walked in, startling them by letting out a gasp.

"Kendyl Clarl?!" she exclaimed, recognizing the younger sister.

"I go by my real name, Jeon Minya," the younger sister replied calmly.

She then proceeded to reveal a startling truth: she was not a biological daughter of the Jeon family.
